As well as our survey, we are also keen to hear from people with their more informal views and feedback!
If you have some general views on training for local councils, you can leave them for us in the comments on this post – or alternatively send them to us via our contact page.

Cannot get past page 2 of your survey, even though I have tried 5 times on 3 different computers. Sorry not to have been successful but can’t understand why.
Hi Cathy
Thanks for getting in touch to let us know about this. I’ll send you an email to follow this up and make sure we get the problem resolved for you.
One of the most successful tools for deliverig training for Councillors & Clerks is to deliver training in the community. By encoraging a group of councils to pool resources training costs can be reduced by more than 50%. Also by the trainer travelling to the comminity it reduces the carbon footprint of training by more than 90%. A greater emphasis should be placed on compulsory training for Councils & Clerks along these lines.
As an elearning developer, author and trainer in the social housing sector who also happens to be a Parish Councillor, I would welcome the opprtunity of developing short introductory, CD delivered, training packages for Parish Councillors.
Picking up Ian Dewar’s feedback (above) – this would be “Carbon Saving”…
Training needs to reflect the work of the Clerk, and needs to be more accessible – where was the last training event in Lincolnshire?
